No new flora species are visible because of the snow. There are holes in one region, probably made by voles or ground squirrels. The small birds, which are dark-eyed juncos, have the same large population. The magpies are still here and inhabit a nest in one of the aspen trees. Perhaps they will have chicks in a few weeks. A sandhill crane flies past. One small fox hangs around the area, but its extremely skittish and and runs off.
A tagged adult black bear comes very close. It sniffs around the house, until it gets purposely scared away from human interference in the form of chainsaw noise. It bolts into the willows. Four new species were visible in the observation area, even though it was dusk.

Great species identification and hypotheses about what you think may happen with these populations in the coming weeks. Maybe begin to focus in on interactions among these species, exploring their individual niches!
